AbilityNet AbilityNet is a national charity helping disabled adults and children use computers and the internet by adapting and adjusting their technology. It also provides  an elearning platform for all aspects of training in disability and technology. Courses range from healthy computing to web accessibility, from training in screenreaders to future technologies.
Alzheimer's Disease International Alzheimer's Disease International (ADI) is an umbrella group of 66 Alzheimer associations throughout the world. Each of the members is the national Alzheimer association in their country who support people with dementia and their families. ADI produces a range of publications - a newsletter, factsheets, booklets and a video for primary care doctors about dementia. Many of the publications can be downloaded free.
Angelman Syndrome Foundation ASF's Mission is to advance the awareness and treatment of Angelman Syndrome through education, information exchange and research.
Ann Craft Trust ACT is a UK association working with staff in the statutory, independent and voluntary sectors in the interests of people with learning disabilities who may be at risk from abuse.

British Institute for Learning Disabilities This website includes membership info, publications, reading lists and notices of special projects. Factsheets provide answers to commonly asked questions for people with learning disabilities and their supporters. It has excellent links page to other disability organisations.

Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine - Oxford Tthe Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine. was established in Oxford as the first of several centres around the UK whose broad aim is to promote evidence-based health care and provide support and resources to anyone who wants to make use of them.
Comhairle Comhairle is the national agency responsible for supporting the provision of information, advice and advocacy on social services to ensure this access. It comes within the remit of the Dept of Social & Family Affairs. It supports the provision of information to the public through the nationwide network of Citizens Information Centres, the Citizens Information Call Centre and and through the OASIS and Citizens Information Databases. The agency has a statutory commitment to assist and support people, particularly those with disabilities, in identifying and understanding their needs and options and in accessing their entitlements to social and civil services.

Contact a Family(UK) An invaluable source of information for families who care for children with any disability or special need. Contains the complete CaF Directory listing over 1000 rare syndromes.
Dept of Health & Children This site provides access to the Department of Health and Children, including an extensive list of electronic publications - government legislation, reports, etc.
Disability Federation of Ireland Disability Federation of Ireland represents the needs of disability organisations and those they represent. It offers support and services to disability organisations at a national and regional level as well as advice, guidance and information on a variety of issues.
Disability Solutions Disability Solutions is the free publication of The Enoch-Gelbard Foundation. It's mission is: "To provide in a widely accessible manner, free of charge, information that is useful, sensitive, and current to everyone concerned with developmental disabilities: parents, families, self-advocates, and professionals."
Disability View/Disabity Now The web site of two online magazines. Covers news and feature articles, profiles classified ad etc. An archive of back issues is included.

Down Syndrome Research & Practice Library (UK) This web site contains archives of articles, books and papers about issues relevant to Down syndrome.
Downs Syndrome Association (UK) Extensive website with information for families and professionals, a dedicated page is offered to new parents. Covers information, literature, news medical research etc.
Drugs Awareness Programme This new interactive drug awareness website is aimed at young people, families, parents and professionals who can help in drug prevention and provides relevant, up-to-date, evidence-based information online.
Enable Ireland (IRL) Enable Ireland is the country's largest provider of services for people with physical disabilities and their families. They provide services for approximately 2,200 children and 200 adults.
Evidence-Based Practice for Public Health Project The purpose of this project is to examine the clinical EBM models and assess their effectiveness to the public health literature. The project will also identify any existing evidence-based projects in public health and assess their effectiveness. The outcomes of the project will be: An Evidence-based Public Health website; An electronic publication or database based on the preferred models(s); A training program for public health practitioners introducing them to evidence-based public health practice and literature retrieval methods.
Family Village (US) One of the longest-established websites for families. This website encompasses information on specific diagnoses, health, education, adaptive products, books and technology.
Fetal Alcohol and Drug Unit Fetal Alcohol Syndrome research unit, headed by Dr. Ann Streissguth, University of Washington. Website includes current FAS events calendar, FAS resources and parent support groups around the world, and the unit's findings. They will send out information packets upon request, to any where in the world.

Mental Health Ireland Mental Health Ireland is a national voluntary organisation which aims to promote positive mental health and to actively support persons with a mental illness, their families and carers by identifying their needs and advocating their rights. Mental Health Ireland is made up of a network of local Mental Health Associations (MHAs) throughout the country who are affiliated to and share the same objectives as the national body.
Inclusion Ireland
Inclusion Ireland is a national voluntary organisation working to promote the rights of people with an intellectual disability in Ireland to ensure their full and equal participation in society. Inclusion Ireland was founded in 1961 (as namhi) and has now become the co-ordinating body for over 160 organisations providing services and supports to almost 28,000 people with an intellectual disability in Ireland.
